Objective:
This will be a collaborative initiative between students (ASCII is the primary point of contact) and faculty, focused on enhancing academic workflows through automation. The software aims to automate and streamline various departmental activities.
There are four primary responsibilities of this committee:
-
Identify Opportunities: Identify repetitive or time-consuming tasks, like scheduling, NFA, answer script evaluation/recheck, quizzes, programming assignment evaluation, or form processing.
-
Effort vs. Benefit: We collect feedback from students and faculty to assess the feasibility and value of a project before undertaking it.
-
Build Projects: Faculty members define a project or use a Hackathon as a means to develop the software.
-
Version Control with Git: GIT has been created to manage these projects. The CSIS Office will manage and maintain this software and be responsible for deployment.
-
Maintain and Improve: The committee should develop a plan for ongoing support, updates, and improvements to ensure the tools remain useful and relevant.
